1. Be at least 18 years of age. 2. Have valid identification with your current address. 3. Be able to verify that you can have a pet where you live. Those who wish to adopt a pet must provide proof of home ownership (mortgage statement or tax bill), or landlord's telephone number. 4. Understand that the New Haven Animal Shelter reserves the right to deny an adoption for any reason. Adopters must apply in person at the New Haven Animal Shelter, 81 Fournier St., New Haven CT, or at one of our special adoption events. Those looking to adopt a companion for their dog are asked to bring their dog with them. Cost to adopt is $80 and includes spay and neuter voucher. Cash only, please.
